Tiffany Budd Goldsmith

Tiffany Budd Goldsmith

I conceptualize and design each piece over time, sometimes this happens quickly in a sketch pad or whilst walking the dogs and other times it takes longer. I then source the materials I will use. Typically the making process starts by smelting an ingot of gold for instance before forging it by hammer or using a roller mill to obtain the correct thickness of sheet or wire. Other processes include piercing the method of sawing with a very fine blade and soldering precious metal surfaces to each other to construct a piece. Further processes are then the polishing and setting of gems.
